Greetings from Tink World!


July 1 is the last market before the holiday. So, come see us at the Decatur Farmers Market. We have a great special. You can make some awesome burgers and even please those that might not like burgers (even though that might be crazy talk to us). 

If you need inspiration for a new burger. You could try a stuffed pork burgerthe Tink Double, or just a plain old fashioned grilled burger with nothing fancy (a Team Tink favorite). There's also the amazing andouille sausages in our special. They aren't too spicy for those that are faint of heart. They are just right for a sausage dog or even for a pasta or gumbo. 

If you aren't into our special, we will also have plenty of other options. We currently have full inventory. So, stock up on your steaks now, while they last! We also have Darby Farms whole birds, thighs and leg quarters. 

As you celebrate the 4th this upcoming week, take a moment to truly appreciate our great nation. Thank those that are fighting for our country and remember those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Remember, freedom isn’t free.

Much blood was shed for a piece of paper, the most important piece of paper in U.S. History, the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” That is what makes this country so great. No matter who you are, where you’re from or what you’ve done, you still have the right to pursue happiness. Citizens of the U.S. still have liberty.

Liberty is defined as, “the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.” Being an American means that you have the liberty or freedom to live the life you choose. You can chase any dream or pursue any interest you may have. That isn’t always possible in other places in the world.

Our freedoms are often taken for granted. Freedom isn’t something that was easily given or granted in the time of our forefathers. It was something that men, women and children fought for. Our founding fathers fought for the establishment of this country. They fought because they believed they had a right to be free. They fought and believed no matter the cost.  And the costs were high.

I am thankful that this country was founded by men and women that were fighters, thinkers and dreamers. Imagine what this country could be if only we could fight, believe and dream as hard as our founding fathers.
